The Reader Confession Tag

TGIF! I am so happy that it is Friday! It has been a crazy long week and I am beyond ready to have a weekend at home. I’m slowly getting the hang of this blogging thing but I am always unsure of what to write about. I came across this tag while reading some posts from Thrice Read and thought it would be a good idea. So here goes nothing.

Have you ever damaged a book?

I have sadly. I don’t even know how it happened but a few of my House of Night books have some water damage and another book as well.

Have you ever damaged a borrowed book?

Me not that I can remember, my kids on the other hand sometimes have a problem with board books.

How long does it take you to read a book?

Well. This can go many ways. Generally speaking maybe 3 days depending on if I actually have time to just sit and read. But lately I feel like it’s been taking me weeks. I’ve been in a funk.

Books that you haven’t finished?

I really hate not finishing books but I have come to just accept that some books I’m not gonna like and I cant force myself to read them. This year I’ve DNF’d 7 books so far.

-The Princess Bride by William Goldman     – Bliss by Shay Mitchell

– The Lost Years by TA Barron                         – Slammed by Colleen Hoover

– The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller     – Room by Emma Donoghue

-Dorothy Must Die Vol 2 by Danielle Paige

Hyped/ Popular books you didn’t like?

The Mortal Instrument Series. I started off liking it but now I just cant bring myself to even look at them. I have read books 1-5 and loved the first two, with each book after that loosing my interest more and more. I haven’t read The Infernal Devices or The Dark Artifices yet. I’m honestly scared too since they are all connected.

Is there a book you wouldn’t tell anyone you were reading?

Nope. Never. I am very vocal about what I’m reading especially if someone asks. You should never be embarrassed of reading.

How many books do you own?

A LOT. Around 200 I think . Honestly I can’t keep track and I haven’t read even half of them.

Are you a fast reader or a slow reader?

Both. If I’m really into it there is no limit on how fast I can read it but at the same time life gets busy all the time so I feel like a slow reader.

Do you like to buddy read?

Of course! Everything is more fun when you’re sharing the experience.

Do you read better in your head or out loud?

In my head for sure. I stumble when I have to read out loud for no reason.

If you were only allowed to own one book, what would it be and why?

As of right now probably A Court of Mist and Fury because I haven’t had that much of an emotional experience reading in a really long time. It’s been a year since I read it but I can’t stop thinking about it.

Are you ready to confess? Let’s talk about it!
