This is the first book of poetry I’ve read and given 5 stars. I don’t typically read a lot of poetry but that’s irrelevant because this book is important. This book is needed. The book is broken up into four chapters The Hurting, The Loving, The Breaking, and The Healing. Each chapter has poems that focus on the chapter title. I can describe it in one word, Powerful. I wanted to say every woman should read this and they should but they are not the only ones, men should read it too.

One of my favorites ( there are a lot of favorites)

“stay strong through your pain
grow flowers from it
you have helped me
grow flowers out of mine so
bloom beautifully
dangerously
loudly
bloom softly
however you need
just bloom”

What are some of your favorite poems?

  1. I just got this book yesterday and read it in one sitting. Definitely powerful and unlike anything I’ve ever read. There were so many favourite poems. I love the flowers blooming one too.
