Down the TBR Hole was created by Lost in a Story . It is an amazing fun way to cut down your tbr. I want to shout out Boston Book Reader because through her I found this. I’m not sure if I’ll be doing this weekly or monthly but hopefully I do it often.
What to do: (straight from original post)
Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
Order on ascending date added.
Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
Read the synopses of the books
Decide: keep it or should it go?
My goodreads tbr is currently at 1404 and I think I add at least one book to it almost every day. So it’s not going to get any smaller without some help. I have a feeling a lot of these are series and I can probably cut down by taking off series books unless it’s the book I’m on or at least a series I’ve started.
The Lucky One by Nicholas Spark
I have still yet to read a Nicholas Sparks book and it sounds like something I might like.
Books 2 and 3 are from The Vampire Diaries Series by LJ Smith
I don’t even need to think about it, these are gone.
Moby Dick by Herman Melville
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
Verdict: keep all classics
The next books are actually Harry Potter by JK Rowling and it’s books 2-7
Verdict: Keep because we all know I need to read these.
Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris
This is book 2 in the Sookie Stackhouse books and I want to at least attempt to read this series. I liked the first book. Plus I own the whole series already so it deserves a chance.
I feel like I’m off to a bad start. I’m keep everything. This is why my tbr is so big, I have issues letting go.
I had all of the books in the Fallen by Lauren Kate series and since I haven’t started any of them I took all of them off but the first book.
So this week I have taken off 6 books. I have a shelf on goodreads for books I don’t want to read so I won’t add them back on again.
How many books are on your tbr?
